Google’s founder attacks Facebook


Transparency and Internet freedom is being threatened by the rise of Facebook and government attempts to control access, according to Sergey Birn, co-founder of Google.

In an interview with UK newspaper The Guardian, he said the principles of openness and universal access that underpinned the creation of the internet three decades ago are facing their greatest ever threat. He blames Apple and, overall, Facebook of attempting to erode web freedoms.
