German chickens banned from entering the Philippines


The import of birds and other products from Germany has been banned by authorities in the Philippines. This is part of the Department of Agriculture’s measures to protect the country’s bird flu-free status.

As reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the ban covers domesticated and wild birds and their products, including poultry meat, day-old chicks, eggs and semen from Emsland, Niedersachsen, in Germany.
