Five dead after gunfight in Afghanistan


At least five people died in a gunfight on 9 January when a group of rebels attempted to enter a governmental building in Eastern Afghanistan.

General Dawlat Khan Zadran, police chief of Paktika province, said four insurgents attempted to take over the building in the province capital Sharan, 160 kilometres south from Kabul.

Three insurgents and two policemen were killed in the gunfight according to Zadran.

Patika province is bordering Pakistan and represents one of the key areas...
