First EIB support for higher education in Romania under Juncker Plan

The European Investment Bank has signed a €25 million loan agreement to modernise and to increase the quality of research at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, a leading university in Romania.
The project will improve study conditions for more than 5.000 students and 273 employees . During the implementation, the project will generate some 1.000 jobs.
This agreement is backed by the European Fund for Strategic Investments, the heart of the Investment Plan for Europe, also known as “Juncker Plan”.
