The far-right Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) managed to double its support in the industrial state of Upper Austria after Sunday’s regional elections and Manfred Haimbuchner (L) of the FPO and leader of the Party Heinz-Christian Strache expressed their satisfaction.

Euronews reported that FPO party leader Hans-Christian Strache, said that the vote result has come as a surprise: “This result has surpassed our most optimistic expectations. It shows overwhelming confidence and overwhelming encouragement,” he said.
