Exxon Mobil has confirmed that 60-year old Nicholas Mockford, a senior executive for the oil company was killed in Brussels on 14 October.
Mockford was reportedly shot three times on the way out of an Italian restaurant in the Brussels suburb of Neder over Heembeek, following which his wife is reported to have been hit and left holding on to his bleeding body. The assailants are said to have then run off in what has been speculated as a failed car jacking or theft.
