The applications for the Commission's European Green Capital Award (EGCA) for 2014 have been completed, with 19 cities from 14 countries submitting their bids.
The EGCA rewards efforts of local authorities and communities to improve the environment, the economy and the quality of life in cities. The award goes each year to a city which leads the way in environmentally friendly urban living and represents a role-model for other European cities.
