European Commission targets tax havens to co-operate


The European Commission has floated proposals to make tax bridges with Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai, Bahamas, Canada and Japan among other countries to rope in European citizens who are defaulters of EU tax-regime. Addressing journalists, the Commission spokeswoman Maria Assimakopoulou announced the commission intentions to extend the EU tax directive to cover European citizens’ savings in such financial centres.
