The European Parliament’s vanity channel, europarlTV is about to be axed as MEPs object to €9 million a year being spent on a channel that few people watch.
Since the project started in 2008 it has been beset by criticism into its expense and reach. For many years the publically funded broadcaster refused to reveal viewing figures, but privately indications were given that it was in the low hundreds.
