Naguib Sawiris’ € 35 million was enough for a 53% stake


Negotiations for the sale of Euronews to Naguib Sawiris for €35 million were completed recently and have left many wondering as to the future of the pan European news agency. Sawiris expressed desire in purchasing an interest back in March, and made it clear that his purchase of Euronews was a business investment rather than editorial control. In comments on this, CEO of Euronews Michael Peters said that he was very clear about this fact during negotiations saying:
