The 14th Senior Officials’ Meeting between the European Union and Thailand took place on 16 October in Brussels.

The discussion covered political, trade, security, environmental matters, human rights issues, as well as fight against illegal fishing, labour issues, prevention of human trafficking and Thailand’s formation of an elected government, where the EU noted a substantial progress.

As both sides are preparing to sign a Partnership and Co-operation Agreement, the Union also stressed the importance of taking steps towards the resumption of negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement.
