EU starts implementing gas pipeline safety project in Kyrgyzstan


The European Union has started implementing a project in Kyrgyzstan to ensure the safe work of trunk gas pipelines. The project is aimed at improving the safety and reliability of transporting gas through Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Kubanychbek Zhusupov, director general of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh joint venture KyrKazGaz, told Interfax.The EU, under the Interstate Oil and Gas Transport to Europe programme, has provided a grant of one million Euro to finance the project.
