EU presidency “very concerned” on Myanmar


The Austrian EU Council presidency said last Wednesday the European Union is “very concerned” about a current offensive by the Myanmar army against the “Karen National Union” (KNU). The offensive had forced large numbers of people to flee, said a statement in Vienna. It called on those in power in Yangon (Rangoon) to put a stop to civilians being driven from their homes in conflict zones.
