Booming Central European stock markets ripe for takeover


A battle for the booming stock exchanges in Bulgaria and Slovenia is rapidly taking shape as signs emerge that the global pressures for share market consolidation have spread to Central and Eastern Europe’s fast-moving economies. So far, about six European stock exchange operators have indicated an interest in buying the 44 percent stake in the Sofia bourse that Bulgaria’s Socialist-led government is planning to sell off in the coming months.
