EU Council prolongs controls at internal Schengen borders


Today, the European Council adopted the Commission’s proposal to prolong proportionate controls at internal Schengen borders. However, the Chief Spokesperson of the Commission Margaritis Schinas at midday press-briefing underlined that the extension concerns only existing checkpoints.
