The European Union has today adopted a Strategy on the Gulf of Guinea, with a view to addressing security, governance and development challenges in the region. The strategy is designed to support the Heads of State Summit in Yaoundé of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC).
