The Dutch research institute CE Delft released a report highlighting that Europe can effectively replace oil with renewable energy in transport without using harmful biofuels. The report, entitled “Sustainable Alternatives for Land-based Biofuels in the European Union”, proposes a significant change in EU policy, giving priority to energy efficiency and promoting the adoption of renewable electricity and sustainable biofuels, as for example those produced from waste and residues.
