Germany’s electrical utilities association VDEW said in its latest report that electricity production from the nation’s 19 nuclear power plants amounted to 83 billion kilowatt-hours in the first six months of this year, according to dpa. Electricity that is based on nuclear power still makes up some 33 percent of the country’s electricity needs even though the first-half figure dropped.
