The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €240 million loan to complete the re-gasification plant in Livorno, Italy. The project is expected to bring serious added value in energy and environmental protection sectors.
The EIB provided the loan to IREN S.p.A. subsidiary OLT Offshore Toscana, who holds the permits to build and operate the plant. The company’s leading shareholders are the German energy group E.ON (46.8%) and the Italian multi-utility IREN Group (46.8%).
