SUOMENLAHTI, FINLAND : 'Hylje' (seal), a ship which is specially designed to fight oil spills, is seen at the Gulf of Finland near Suomenlahti, Tuesday 22 April 2003. Hylje was dispatched to the Porvoo area in the Gulf of Finland on Sunday night after an observation flight detected an oil slick in the icy water earlier in the day. By Monday evening the Hylje ship had managed to scoop up about 1.5 cubic meters of oil from the sea. Environment officials believe that the oil may have come from several ships trapped in the winter ice.

European Investment Bank and Nordic Investment Bank Group reconfirmed their joint commitments at a high-level meeting in Helsinki on 18 June.
Cooperation between the two multilateral investment institutions dates back as far as the 1980s, and was further strengthened by a Memorandum of Understanding which took force in 2014 and had climate and environmental sustainability as some of the main focus areas. Cooperation on these fronts has been considerable in recent years, both on an institutional and operational level.
