Egypt's statistical authority confirmed on Tuesday the country remains on a demographically explosive trajectory, growing by 1 million people every six months.
In June 2016, Egypt’s statistical service marked Egypt passing the 90 million mark. In December, Egypt reached 91 million. Algeria has a population of 49 million and Yemen, before the war, had a population 58 million.
