The European Economic and Social Committee suggests the need for a more integrated and cost-effective renewable strategy. The EESC during its plenary session on 17 December said that in order to achieve the EU’s 2050 climate goals, the national subsidies should be replaced."The EU-wide subsidies that we are calling for should be limited in time, until renewable technologies become competitive", said Ulla Sirkeinen(Employers' Group, Finland), rapporteur for the opinion.
