€5.2 million has been earmarked by the European Commission to assist France in dealing with the 3,000 migrants in Calais who live in camps known as the “Jungle.”
The announcement came after European Commission's First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos visited Calais, and discussed the assistance details with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls and Minister of Interior Bernard Cazeneuve this morning.
