The 8th edition of the Digital Assembly took place in Bucharest, Romania on 13 and 14 June. The event was co-organised by the Commission and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and brought together representatives from industry, academia and civil society.
Three key initiatives were highlighted: a new ultra-secure quantum communication network, adoption of the report on the digital economy partnership for Africa-Europe and a new investment facility to scale up digital start-ups in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.
