“We take the defence of the EU steel industry very seriously, and we will not hesitate to resort to any means, including anti-dumping measures, to protect it,” Alexander Winterstein, a Commission spokesman, said at a press briefing on Friday. He added that the Commission has already made a proposal to modernize the steel industry in Europe.
“Whenever the Commission feels it is appropriate, we will take the necessary actions according to the legal framework that we have,” Winterstein said.
