Belgium’s CMI has signed a contract with SeverGal for the supply of equipment to build a hot-dip galvanising plant at Severstal, the steel works said in a press release. SeverGal, a joint venture between Russia’s Severstal and the European steel giant Arcelor, will have the capacity to produce 400,000 tonnes of HD galvanised steel per year for the automobile industry. Severstal owns 75 percent of SeverGal and Arcelor 25 percent.
