The Mumbai-born London-raised photographer, Souvid Datta, travelled to China in order to document what life is really like in a country where air pollution kills more than one million people each year and where a third of those living in rural areas lack access to clean water.

His album, which can be viewed online ( is titled The Human Price of Pollution. The images show the smog in the sky and the pollution in the rivers.
