The Victoria & Albert museum in London owns over 200 wedding garments and accessories dating between 1673 and 2007. The recent ‘Wedding dresses 1775-2014’ exhibition, organised by Edwina Ehrman, Curator of Textiles and Fashion at the V&A, made use of 80 pieces from this large collection, while benefitting from loans, made by contemporary designers and celebrities. Although a few bridegrooms’ suits are featured, the exhibition mainly evolves around British wedding dresses.
