BP said on 17 October that US petroleum firm Anadarko has agreed to pay $4 billion in a settlement with one of its partners at the site of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010, DPA reported.

The US firm held a 25% share in the well which exploded in April, 2010, causing the largest oil spill in US history.
