This season’s Haute Couture spring 2014 collections exuded optimism as many catwalks seemed to be inspired by the ‘caterpillar to butterfly’ transformation theme.  Several houses replaced their usual black ensembles with white and showed bright numbers throughout their collection, while others started out with dark, sober outfits before turning to romantic spring pastels or more explosive colours – all in an imposing spirit of feminine empowerment.
