Baltic EU countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will ask for a permanent NATO presence because of the worsening relation with Russia.
Capt. Mindaugas Neimontas, spokesman for Lithuania's chief of defence told the Associated Press that a permanent NATO presence is necessary “because of the security situation,” with Russia. Neimontas told The AP today that the situation in the Baltic region is not getting better and there would certainly be “a deterrent.”
