In a roundtable discussion at the European People's Party Congress in Madrid the European Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dmitris Avramopoulos described his job as being on the "hot seat" due to the vital and difficult nature of solving the migration crisis in Europe today. Speaking on the issue, Avramopoulos described himself as feeling "outspoken," as he was quick to point out the responsibility of member states as well as the Commission in helping solve the crisis.
