Armenia: a two-week hostage situation ends, political crisis continues


A hostage situation that unfolded for two weeks ended on Sunday in Yerevan, Armenia.

End of a hostage situation

An armed group ("Sasna tsrer") of approximately 20 men seized a police station in Yerevan on July and eventually surrendered on Sunday, July 31.

During the original assault, the group killed a police Colonel and wounded three more security personnel.
