A strain of bacteria resistant to drugs appeared in the U.S, known as mcr-1; that is a superbug, resistant to antibiotics. The announcement came on Thursday on a US medical journal published by the American Society of Microbiology.
Antibiotic overuse by oversubscription or through the food chain has neutralized the effect of medical cabinets. Antibiotic-resistant superbugs are emerging.
This is the first report of a bug that is resistant to all known antibiotics in the United States.
