Anastasiades falls into diplomatic “protocol ambush” in Turkey


The President of the Republic of Cyprus does not often visit Turkey and his visit on Tuesday was cut short.

The host was not Turkey, a country that does not recognize the Republic of Cyprus. Instead, the host was the United Nations. President Anastasiades was attending the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul.

However, the Cypriot President feels he has fell in a “protocol ambush.”
