Activist trademarks Soldiers of Odin name for unicorn-theme clothing


Soldiers of Odin, was the name of a far-right group which was founded in Finland and later on expanded in Norway. The members of the group, are named after the main god of the Norse saga.

Riikka Yrttiaho, former member of the Left Alliance Finnish party, said she filed the trademark request to complaint against the decision of the Finnish authorities to accept the anti-refugee Soldiers of Odin group as a certified organisation

The name “Soldiers of Odin” is now a trademark for unicorn-theme clothes, as Riikka Yrttiaho, former member of the Left Alliance Finnish party made a surprise move to protest against the anti-refugee group and its rhetoric.

Yrttiaho, submitted the trademark application to the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) and after the approval of the application she stressed that “Soldiers of Odin” brand will “manufacture high quality local handicraft (with)….unicorns and glitter.” The Finnish...
