17 Syrian refugees, including five children, drowned when their boat sank, off Turkish coast. The refugees left from the Turkish coastal town of Bodrum on 27 September and headed to the Greek island, Kos.

According to the Dogan news agency, the refugees drowned as they didn’t manage to get out of the boat’s cabin when the boat started to sink. Another 20 migrants, who were on the boat’s deck and were equipped with life jackets, managed to abandon the boat and swam back to the Turkish coast.
