A total of ten swimmers of various ages drowned off beaches across Greece on Friday and Saturday in a negative record for the country, according to authorities.

The victims ranged from a 82-year-old woman who lost her life in Corfu island in northwestern Greece and a 67-year-old man whose dead body was retrieved off Rhodes island in southeastern Greece to a 39-year-old man who drowned near Thessaloniki in northern Greece.
